Members of Students for New Urbanism (SNU) were recently awarded the special jury prize for “Walk-Ability” at the 2011 Ed Bacon Student Design Competition, hosted by the Philadelphia Center for Architecture. Graduate students Sylvester Bartos and Christopher Whelan led the team of fellow graduate students Joel VanderWeele and undergraduates Anne Whitty, Meeghan Miller, Brendan Hart, Shannon McGoldrick, and Gabrielle Stroik, with special assistance from alumnus John Whitty, in designing a proposal titled “Connectivity and Continuity” for Philadelphia’s I-95/CSX Corridor.
